Contoller upgrades

We can update laser machine controllers to Ruida controllers, enabling the use of Lightburn software. Lightburn is a modern and constantly evolving laser software, helping you get the most out of your machine, whilst at the same time being easier to use and containing more features than older laser software packages. Button jig Case Study

This jig was for a very unusual application that required a certain amount of items to be loaded in a jig that in turn could be loaded into a laser machine with repeatability within +/- 0.1mm. On top of that, there was a slight variation in diameter and also thickness, which meant that a normal “drop-in” jig wouldn’t work. After a couple of trials, we came up with this jig which has a spring-loaded retaining bar, split in the middle, which meant that the edge of the item was always in the same place, with the bar holding the items firmly. There is also a cut out of a slightly smaller diameter than the item itself, which meant that the thickness difference of the item wasn’t so much of an issue. On the machine itself, we had a plate mounted with two turned pins that corresponded to two holes on the jig for alignment, enabling the jig to be lifted out and replaced in exactly the same place every time. With two jigs, one could be loaded while the other was running in the machine, increasing production efficiency vastly compared to the previous solution used.

Handling Solutions

Roller bed & easy start procedure case study

The customer required a solution where large sheets of glass could be handled with minimum effort and without damage, while at the same time being able to be located in a fixed jig easily and consistently. We achieved this by using rollers incorporated into a bespoke table, along with a Nylon positive side stop with heavy-duty nylon rollers in the machine itself. The glass fed into an aperture in the front of the machine and the engraving cycle was started by a remote start button located on the side of the roller table. This meant for the operation cycle all the operator had to do was bring the glass over the roller table up to the Nylon side stop, push the glass sheet into the machine up to the Nylon backstop of the fixed jig, and press cycle start. Quick, simple, and easy.
